Chelsea winger could leave

Chelsea winger Jesper Groenkjaer could leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, while defender Mario Melchiot has turned down the chance of joining Feyenoord.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Groenkjaer could leave the Premiership for a chance to play in the Bundesliga, with Werder Bremen signaling their interest in the Danish international.

The same newspaper report that Dutch defender Melchiot has opted to stay at Stamford Bridge to fight for a place in the starting XI rather that moving back to his native country to play for Feyenoord.

Heskey to Boro, Izzet to Spurs?

Liverpool striker Emile Heskey is yet again being linked with a move to Middlesbrough, while Leicester midfielder Muzzy Izzet is being targeted by Tottenham.

According to the People, Boro are lining up a £4,5 million bid for Heskey.

The England international was close to signing for Boro in the January transfer window, but opted to stay on at Anfield.

Izzet is available on a free transfer in the summer, and reports in the Daily Star suggest that the Turkish international could join Tottenham.

United want the ‘new Maradona’

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is keen on adding Boca Juniors playmaker Carlos Tevez to his roster in the summer.

According to the People, the 18-year old is on top of Ferguson’s shortlist of new players for the summer.

Tevez, who is nicknamed the ‘new Maradona’, would bring more flair to the Manchester United side.

Eriksson denied new Chelsea link

England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has denied fresh reports linking him with a move to Chelsea in the summer, according to BBC.

Apparently the Swede has asked Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved to join him at Stamford Bridge.

Eriksson responded to these rumours by saying: “This is simply not true.”

The BBC also report that former Czech international Zdenek Nehoda was quoted as saying: “Mr Eriksson phoned Nedved and said: ‘I will be taking over Chelsea this summer – would you be interested in signing for me?’”
