Coventry City have loaned in Tottenham Hotspur ‘keeper Martin Fulop on a three-month deal.

Fulop told Coventry’s official website: “I’m really looking forward to it.

“It’s a great thing for me to come to a big club like Coventry and play regular first-team football.

“This is my second year at Spurs. Last season I sat on the bench 20 times so I need to improve on that. It was a good year for me as I also made my international debut for Hungary.

“I played against France and we lost 2-1 but I played in the second half and kept a clean sheet.”

He added: “I wanted to come straight away. Since the summer, I have been looking for a loan move so this was perfect. We had some problems at Spurs with injuries to the goalkeepers early this season so they didn’t let me go on loan until last week. I’m really glad to come here.

“I know Coventry City was a big Premier League club and even though they are now in the Championship, I can see the Club has a fantastic stadium and I hope the team can get promoted.”

Pardew agrees to extend West Ham stay

West Ham United chairman Terry Brown has confirmed that manager Alan Pardew has agreed to extend his contract at Upton Park by another five years.

Brown told his club’s official website: “I am delighted that Alan Pardew has committed his future to this Club. He is one of the brightest young managers in the game and we are proud to have him at Upton Park.

“I have already paid tribute to the leadership qualities that brought West Ham United promotion to the Premier League but he has achieved much more than that over the last two years.

“Alan has shown himself to be a shrewd judge in the transfer market and I have been particularly impressed by the way he balances the success on the field against the business demands of this Club. It has enabled us to put West Ham United in a strong financial position and build on last season’s successes rather than simply stabilise.

“He has built an exciting young squad in the tradition of West Ham United and the club is full of optimism for the future.”
