Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has denied that he’s looking to leave Reebok Stadium.

Okocha told his club’s official website: “I am not planning to leave. I have never said I was about to leave.

“What I have said is I might end up finishing my career somewhere warmer. But I did not say I was planning to leave now.

“Maybe I was misunderstood but I am enjoying my time here and, even though I have had difficult times, I have always given my best when I have been given the opportunities.

“I don’t know how long my time will last here, but every time I go out there to play, I try to forget about tomorrow and think about today.”

West Bromwich Albion defender Curtis Davies has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

Davies said: “There are always little whispers, with teams throwing their name into the hat to try and unsettle me.

“I don’t take any notice of the rumours. I’m happy at Albion and I’ve only been here for six months. I’m just happy to play my football.”

He added: “It’s down to the club what its ambitions are. If we were to get relegated you don’t know what the club might do. They might keep me to try and push on, but it’s not in my hands.”

Lehmann confident over new Arsenal deal

Arsenal ‘keeper Jens Lehmann is confident of signing a new contract at Highbury. The 36-year-old is out of contract in the summer.

Lehmann said: “I have spoken to [manager Arsene] Wenger about my contract renewal.

“I am optimistic we can reach an agreement considering what I have done in recent seasons and this year.

“But we still haven’t reached a solution because it depends on how long the agreement will be for.

“I would like to stay but I do realise that I am 36-years-old and if I ask for a four-year contract I might only get two.”

He added: “I am particularly satisfied with my campaign so far, with the way I am playing, but not with the results the team have achieved.

“We are not getting the results we expected.”
