Chelsea striker stays at Inter Milan

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo will remain at Inter Milan for the second year of his loan.

Crespo told Inter’s official website: “I am very happy. Staying at Inter was what I wanted.

“I would like to thank Chelsea first of all for their help, and Inter for confirming their faith in me.”

Manchester United agree Nani and Anderson deals

Manchester United have agreed to sign Sporting midfielder Nani and FC Porto midfielder Anderson.

A United statement said: “Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms in principle with Sporting Lisbon for the purchase of the registration of Nani.

“Personal terms have been agreed and a formal announcement will take place once the necessary administrative procedures, including a medical have been completed.”

Another United statement said: “Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms in principle with FC Porto for the purchase of the registration of Anderson.

“Personal terms have been agreed and a formal announcement will take place once the necessary administrative procedures, including a medical have been completed.”

Norwich keen on Scunthorpe striker

Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton has revealed that Norwich City are interested in striker Billy Sharp.

Scunthorpe chairman Steve Wharton told the Eastern Daily Press: “I can confirm that Norwich are one of four or five clubs showing an interest in Billy.

“Obviously I cannot go into any detail while discussions are ongoing. Billy has been made aware of the interest.”

He added: “Clubs looking at Billy know that our asking price is £2m, plus various other things built into the package to make it substantially more.

“But I am still desperately hoping Billy will stay with us. We have offered him the best new contract that we can.”

Portsmouth hopeful over Muntari move

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie is hoping to this week complete the signing of Udinese midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari.

Storrie said: “It’s fine-tuning, just minor details, but we’re hopeful they’ll be completed in the second half of this week.

“He’s a very good player and wants to come here but negotiations which, in this case, have been long, don’t happen just like that.”
