Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon has committed his future to the North London club by extending his contract at White Hart Lane until 2014.

The 21-year-old told his club’s official website: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract. I’ve been here a long time now and love every minute of it.

“Everyone at the club from the managers, the fans, they’ve all looked after me so well.

“I think it’s been my best season and to get a new deal is great for me.”

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp added: “It is great news for the Club. Aaron wants to stay, we want to keep him. He is a young player with a great future. He has been fantastic since I’ve been here so we are delighted to have secured him long-term.

“He has got all the ability to be a top player and yet he is still learning the game.

“He is a great lad but he is not the finished article. If he keeps listening and taking on board all the good advice that he gets given – as he already has done – then I think he can go on to be a fantastic player.”

Nottingham Forest have loaned in Everton ‘keeper Iain Turner for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old Scot has yet to make an appearance for the Goodison Park club this season.

Forest manager Billy Davies told his club’s official website: “It’s no secret that we have been looking to bring a new goalkeeper in to provide competition.

“Iain Turner fits the bill perfectly. He is a goalkeeper with a good pedigree and great potential and it’s a situation that helps both ourselves and Everton.”

Turner added: “I’m looking forward to it immensely – it’s a great opportunity for me and I intend to grasp it with both hands.

“Forest’s league position doesn’t concern me. I’ve played in the Championship before, know how tight a league it is and how quickly things can turn around.”

“The club is greatly respected around the world due to its incredible history and tremendous heritage. It is my aim to uphold those values and help create a new chapter in our history.

“Throughout this process, I would like to thank the owners for their hard work in finalising the deal. All of us at the club want the same thing, which is to be successful by winning major trophies.”
