Celtic have completed the signing of Cardiff City winger Joe Ledley on a four-year contract.

The 23-year-old, who was out of contract at Cardiff, moves to Scotland on a Bosman free transfer.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon told his club’s official website: “We really are delighted to welcome Joe to Celtic. Clearly, there were a number of clubs very interested in signing him so we are very pleased he has chosen to come to Celtic, somewhere I think he can be a tremendous success.”

The Welsh international added: “Celtic is a massive club. I’m looking forward to the season and working with Neil and his coaching staff.

“I want to come here and win trophies. This is a great club and I’m looking forward to playing in front of a Celtic’s great fans every week.

“This is the right time to leave Cardiff and look at my career. Hopefully we can win the league and cups and it gives me the opportunity to play in Europe too.”

Stoke City have signed young midfielder Florent Cuvelier from Portsmouth on a two-year contract.

The Potters say they beat Fulham, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur to sign the 17-year-old Belgian.

City manager Tony Pulis told his club’s official website: “Florent is definitely one for the future and we are delighted that he has chosen to move here.

“It’s a measure of the Club’s progress and the emphasis we are placing on the development of the youth set-up that we have managed to attract such an outstanding talent to this Club when he attracted so much interest.”

He added: “He will work with the Academy initially because he is a young lad with a lot yet to do, but we are pleased to have him here.”

Arsenal have added defender Laurent Koscielny to their squad after signing the 24-year-old from Lorient.

The fee and the contract length have not been disclosed.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger told his club’s official website: “Koscielny is a central defender with great ability who performed extremely well last season for Lorient. We identified him as a very strong centre half, who has made big progress very quickly. He has shown he is mentally strong, he’s a fighter and a very strong competitor. Koscielny is a great addition to our squad.”

Koscielny added: “I’m very excited to be joining Arsenal. They are one of the biggest teams in Europe with many great players. I’m really looking forward to playing in the English Premier League and the Champions League with my new club. Also, in Arsene Wenger, Arsenal has one of the best managers in the world and I can’t wait to work with him and do my best for the Arsenal supporters.”

Newcastle United have snapped up defender/midfielder James Perch from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.

The versatile 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton told his club’s official website: “James is a player I’ve admired for some time and it’s great we’ve been able to secure his services.

“I’m certain he’ll prove to be a great addition to our squad.”
