Neville extends Everton stay

Everton veteran Phil Neville has extended his contract at Goodison Park until the summer of 2013.

The 34-year-old defender/midfielder has been with Everton since joining from Manchester United for £3.5m in August 2005.

Neville told his club’s official website: “I feel really proud and this club has never let me down. It’s shown faith in me again and for the next two years I’m going to give my all for this football club.

“That’s what I’ve done for the last six years and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

He added: “I want to play beyond that [2013]. But for the next two years I’m going to give my all.

“I love playing for Everton. I love the spirit in the club, I love the togetherness, and that’s going to continue.”

Ex-Leeds United striker joins Everton

After being released by Leeds United last week, Jermaine Beckford has joined Everton on a four-year contract.

The striker, who rejected a new contract at Elland Road, scored 31 goals last season.

The 26-year-old told his new club’s official website: “Everton’s a club that I think I can learn from and it can help me develop into a better player. Fingers crossed, I can be really involved in taking this club where it wants to be.”

Rodwell pens new Everton deal

Everton’s highly-rated youngster, Jack Rodwell, has signed a new five-year contract at Goodison Park.

The 19-year-old has made 64 appearance for the Blues, scoring 5 times, since making his debut as a 16-year old in 2007.

Everton manager David Moyes told his club’s official website: “I’m very pleased that Jack Rodwell has signed an improved contract because it re-affirms Everton’s ambition to challenge the top clubs.

“I want to keep all the players we have here to make us stronger in the coming season.”

Arsenal defender makes Everton loan move

Arsenal central-defender Philippe Senderos has joined Everton on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old Swiss international, who had a loan spell with Italian giants AC Milan last season, has made just two appearances for the Gunners this season.

Senderos told Everton’s official website: “I am delighted to be an Everton player for the remainder of the season. I can’t wait to get stuck in and play for Everton.

“Hopefully I can get some first team football in during my time here. I am here with high hopes and hopefully I can fulfil them.”

He added: “I have spoken to [Everton manager] David Moyes and he hopes to give me opportunities here. Hopefully I can grab that opportunity and stay in the team.

“Everton’s form over the last few weeks has been better and they are getting stronger.”
